Ferenc Morton Szasz, author of The Day the Sun Rose Twice: The Story of the Trinity Nuclear Site Explosion, July 16, 1945, was renowned for the breadth of his scholarship, which ranged from studies of American religious history to World War II and the Atomic Age. He was Regents Professor of History at the University of New Mexico, where he taught for forty-three years.
